The next chapter

A bigger
playground.

I’ve spent years creating a brave space inside one school — a place where people can question, imagine, experiment, connect and make something that wasn’t there before.

Now I’m curious what happens when that brave space no longer has walls.

“The mission never changed.
Only the size of the playground.” ♡
From one brave space to many

What we built became a question.

De Overlaat became a real-life brave space: a place where trust, curiosity, creativity and courage could become visible in everyday education. Not a model to copy. A living example of what can happen when people are given room to create change.

Same values. New horizons. Let’s keep going. ♡
The bigger question

What if the brave space didn’t have walls?

What if we could create the conditions for change — together?

WONDER

Ask better questions before reaching for answers.

CONNECT

Bring people, places and perspectives together.

CREATE

Turn curiosity into experiments and meaningful learning.

GROW

Build the confidence and capacity to keep changing from within.

Down the rabbit hole

I don’t know exactly what my next job is called.

Perhaps it doesn’t exist yet.

For someone who has spent most of her working life as a schoolleader, that should probably feel terrifying. Strangely, it doesn’t. Because I am beginning to realise that I don’t need to know the title.

I know the work.

01Design learning experiences that make people think.
02Build programmes that turn curiosity into action.
03Create communities where educators and leaders learn together.
04Connect schools, universities, organisations and people.
05Facilitate the messy space where something genuinely new can emerge.
06Grow people who can create brave spaces for others.

This is not about leaving education.

It is about going deeper into it.

I could take these skills elsewhere. There are organisations with fascinating problems to solve, consultancy work to do and innovation processes to design.

But that isn’t the change I want to spend my time creating.

My playground is education.

Because classrooms matter. Teachers matter. School leaders matter. Young people matter.

And because I have seen what becomes possible when people inside education are given enough trust and space to rediscover their own capacity to create change.

Not another expert with the answer.

I don’t want to build dependency on experts.

I want to build innovation capacity in education itself.

A place where ideas can meet. Where interesting people can find one another. Where questions are welcome before answers exist.

Where educators, leaders and communities can explore, experiment, connect and create — and leave with more confidence in their own ability to make change happen.

Connect people.
Connect ideas.
A brighter tomorrow. ♡
“I’ve never really known where my bear hunts would take me. But somehow, what I find along the way always turns out to be more wonderful than anything I could have imagined.”
So …

This isn’t a career plan.

It’s an invitation.

The Wonderland Project started as an exploration of my own learning, leadership and curiosity. Increasingly, it is becoming something else.

A place where questions, people and possibilities can find each other. Where curiosity opens doors, and we dare to discover what might be possible together.

I think I finally know where I want to get to.
I just don’t know what we’ll discover on the way.

Curious?

Come find me in Wonderland.

Bring a question.
We’ll see what happens. ♡
